My online spending update

 

Well, the chart has been updated with 2 more expenses which brought my spending to USD143.14 (RM486.70) on my quest to make $ online in a span of a month.

Granted its not a huge sum of $ as I know there are those who have spent more to set up their path to make money online and I must commend myself for investing my hard earned cash wisely.  I have signed up for pro hosting with Namecheap as I found they offered the best deal among others such as Godaddy and Hostgator (or I could be wrong but I am happy with my choice!)

To think I was about to pay RM550 for a ‘branded’ handbag just because I felt I needed a present for the new year. I am all for retail therapy but spending money to upgrade and add on to your knowledge is much more worth it.

But I am so so glad that I came to my senses and am now focus on my goal.  I never thought that my quest to make money online have opened me up to share my experience in a blog. I am naturally shy you see.

And the thought just appeared to me out of nowhere to try and make this part of my 2008 goals, maybe it has been part of my subconscious for a while and I have finally realized it.

Your subconscious mind is amazingly powerful and that is a subject to tackle another time.

Be Yourself

Throughout my journey on this making $ online business, doubts about my ability and what I have to offer in the online business keep springing to mind. Just this morning, I wonder whether joining as Silver Member of the IMC was a right move, wouldn’t it be better for me to just focus on my 9-5 work and just live the way I am currently living. Basically to remain in my comfort zone.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my life as I believe in the simplicity concept. I get joy out of a good cup of brewed coffee, a great book that can transport me to another world and a great show on TV can easily entertain me. I am an easy to be contented person because I realize that I am so much better off than many others in the world.

Yet, if one of my wish or rather goal (stronger word there) is to make my own income and eventually work for myself, I need to change my way of thinking and that I know takes time and is a never-ending process. It is very important that you keep your eye on the goal and remain on a one track mind. The ‘what-ifs’ will pop up and you just need to push the negativity aside and keep believing in your capabilities.

Everyone has something to share and offer that is of value to at least someone out there. But you must remember to not operate on a Pollyanna mode either, and must call a spade a spade. Read The Dip by Seth Godin for some insights on quitting. But I don’t intend to quit yet as I have just begun

It is very easy to suffer from information overload when you start on any online business as there are plenty of information out there. Just keep your focus, find a mentor(s) and take tiny steps to start something online. It is very true that if you just keep on reading and digesting information, and never get moving, you will still be where you are at now which is not where you want to be.

Be yourself and trust in your own abilities. There is this famous quote: “Courage is not the absence of fear, but the capacity to act despite our fears”.

I Just Joined Internet Millionaire Club by Gobala Krishnan

Today I have taken another BIG step on my making money online journey. I have decided to take the bull by its horns and joined Internet Millionaire Club founded by my fellow Malaysian Gobala Krishnan who is a proven successful Internet Marketer. My first blogging lesson

I learned my first blogging lesson today, that is to save all your posts in a file as posts can somehow miraculously disappear.  I posted a post about information overload while at work and when I came home to do some blog housekeeping, found the post was missing and only the title was in place.

Uggh! I hope I might have a copy saved back on my office laptop, take note of the word hope.  I can’t remember all that was in the post but it was a good post, in my opinion. The post was short but easy to read and was motivating.

Well, life goes on and this serves as a lesson that I will always remember.

Writing articles can be easy for you

Martin Avis writes very well as can be seen from his weekly ezine, blog and sites.  His British humour comes across in his writing and I have learned and gained much knowledge on motivation, internet marketing and also his travels and family life.

When he publishes a report, you know for sure its good stuff.  And he is one of the honest internet marketing expert out there.

In my earlier post, I mentioned I bought Licensed to Quit ebook because of his recommendation. It was a choice well made and I will be re-reading that book to push myself to succeed in making money online.

Just a few days ago, I bought Martin’s ebook ‘You can write articles’ and got an unannounced and unexpected bonus, which made me really happy.

If you are new to internet marketing and is looking at a way to bring traffic to your website, blog or to be taken seriously in the business, writing articles is one the easiest way to do that.

Remember when you were in school, and you were required to write short essays on a particular topic? Writing articles is quite similar – you might know a lot about a subject but you might still have to do research.

If writing an article is daunting to you and you want someone to give you a helping hand, I would recommend you to consider purchasing Martin’s ebook. At USD7 (RM23), it does not burn a hole in your pocket and even if you are not interested in internet marketing, you can still learn to write articles as a useful skill. Struggling

It is now the 6th day of the new year and I am stuck. I do not know what to do to make $ online.  I don’t mean to whinge but I wish I can have some direction.

I am not an expert on any subject so I am not sure what to write about in a report. By the way, I have purchased Write That Report.  Some suggestions are relevant but I still prefer the e-books Licensed to Quit and Fast Cash Strategy, because its truly worth the value of the purchase price.

Martin Avis has written an e-book on how to write articles that will drive traffic to your website from zero knowledge, perhaps that would have been a better buy? I might purchase that book and see whether it will give me the much needed boost.  I will also be more active in forums which is a must.
