My online spending update

January 17, 2008

Online spending as at 17 Jan 2008

Well, the chart has been updated with 2 more expenses which brought my spending to USD143.14 (RM486.70) on my quest to make $ online in a span of a month.

Granted its not a huge sum of $ as I know there are those who have spent more to set up their path to make money online and I must commend myself for investing my hard earned cash wisely.  I have signed up for pro hosting with Namecheap as I found they offered the best deal among others such as Godaddy and Hostgator (or I could be wrong but I am happy with my choice!)

To think I was about to pay RM550 for a ‘branded’ handbag just because I felt I needed a present for the new year. I am all for retail therapy but spending money to upgrade and add on to your knowledge is much more worth it.

But I am so so glad that I came to my senses and am now focus on my goal.  I never thought that my quest to make money online have opened me up to share my experience in a blog. I am naturally shy you see. :-)

And the thought just appeared to me out of nowhere to try and make this part of my 2008 goals, maybe it has been part of my subconscious for a while and I have finally realized it.

Your subconscious mind is amazingly powerful and that is a subject to tackle another time.

I Just Joined Internet Millionaire Club by Gobala Krishnan

January 16, 2008

choose your path to success
Today I have taken another BIG step on my making money online journey. I have decided to take the bull by its horns and joined Internet Millionaire Club founded by my fellow Malaysian Gobala Krishnan who is a proven successful Internet Marketer. I came to know about Gobala via another trusted Internet Marketing blog, Click Newz by Lynn Terry.

With this membership I will have access to tons of information to make it so much easier to join the ranks of those already making a full time living online.

As a Silver Member, I currently have access to the following (which I have downloaded by the way):
  1. Audio interviews with successful Internet Moneymakers from various sources such as PLR, Ebay, Google Adsense, SEO, etc
  2.  Private tele-coaching
  3. Private Mastermind Group Meetings (Bi-monthly)
  4. Two (2) Absolutely FREE E-Books to market and sell each month

I have been looking for something similar but most of the membership sites are US based and you have the time difference etc. Remember my first post on this blog, I have set a timeframe of 1 year to achieve my making money online goal but I will not fool myself. I know sometimes it might take more than one year to realize the dream but I have to actually start somewhere and somehow if I am truly serious.

Honestly, I cannot afford to leave my full time job which is my sole income to pay for all my living expenses and my full time job will now supplement my plan to find a second source of income. If it works out and I truly believe it will, I am on my way to being the boss of me.

Cost of membership for the Internet Millionaire Club is USD12.90 a month – works out to RM44 per month. This is an opportunity cost for me because I could use this money to buy another health plan but between the 2 opportunities, I have chosen to realize my dream of making money online.

To make a SERIOUS change in your life, you have to take action but set a timeframe for yourself to achieve your plans. 2008 is going to be a monumental year for me as I have also shared that another goal of mine is purchasing my first property so my quest to make extra money online is timely ;-)

For more information on this Internet Millionaire Club membership, click HERE. Spots are limited to 200 pax and the last I counted, spots are down to 180, so go join now if you want to make money online as you will be learning from people that have gone through it and come out successful.

ps: I get no commision from new members joining etc….just in case you are wondering ;-)

Writing articles can be easy for you

January 7, 2008

Martin Avis writes very well as can be seen from his weekly ezine, blog and sites.  His British humour comes across in his writing and I have learned and gained much knowledge on motivation, internet marketing and also his travels and family life.

When he publishes a report, you know for sure its good stuff.  And he is one of the honest internet marketing expert out there.

In my earlier post, I mentioned I bought Licensed to Quit ebook because of his recommendation. It was a choice well made and I will be re-reading that book to push myself to succeed in making money online.

Just a few days ago, I bought Martin’s ebook ‘You can write articles’ and got an unannounced and unexpected bonus, which made me really happy.

If you are new to internet marketing and is looking at a way to bring traffic to your website, blog or to be taken seriously in the business, writing articles is one the easiest way to do that.

Remember when you were in school, and you were required to write short essays on a particular topic? Writing articles is quite similar – you might know a lot about a subject but you might still have to do research.

If writing an article is daunting to you and you want someone to give you a helping hand, I would recommend you to consider purchasing Martin’s ebook. At USD7 (RM23), it does not burn a hole in your pocket and even if you are not interested in internet marketing, you can still learn to write articles as a useful skill. Writing is a skill that can be mastered as long as you are willing to take the first step.  I have taken my first step, how about you?

My online spending thus far…

make-money-online-table.jpg

The table above shows how much I have spent this far to make my way into making money online. I have not included hosting cost which I would only look into in February 2008, once I have carefully selected the right web host.

Further insight

December 22, 2007

I re-read the Fast Cash Strategy today and gained more insight into the seven steps to making fast cash even if the product is not IM related. As mentioned in yesterday’s post, I am formulating something which might be workable and possibly make my first $ online.

I am also contemplating to purchase Write That Report from Jonathan Leger – will his report be able to teach to me to write report(s) that will be purchased by customers? I have decided not to purchase at this time as I think I need to really focus on getting my first product idea out.

Fast Cash Strategy

December 21, 2007

Just finished this book by the very established Lynn Terry and I would like to inform that this book has opened my eyes to how to promote ‘your’ product without a website, list, etc….I did not regret purchasing this book and it works very well with my earlier purchase.  Basically the two books I have purchased gave me different avenues to make money online and it teaches you the approach.  The basic ingredient that is required is still a product (either your own or someone’s else).  This is something that I need to consider before really building my online business.  Information marketing is one aspect of online business and there are other types of online businesses you can consider such as becoming a coach or an expert on a subject, selling tangible products (which is much harder because you have to deal with physical inventory, stock and shipping, etc).  I am still looking at the various opportunities and deciding on what I really want to do.

I know I do not want to be just a one-off IM since I mentioned before, I really want to build an established business online and provide real value in terms of meeting a need or want- which I am still not very sure what it will be.

Hence, I will reassess my goals, but there is something cooking in my head at the moment after reading Fash Cash Strategy. I will write more about it later.

I finished

December 20, 2007

I have finished reading the 52 page ebook by Tony Shepherd and Sara Brown, and I would say the book is definitely worth reading to learn and get insight on how to make $ from the internet. The most important thing is to have a product for e.g. ebook, video, audio etc. Basically, the book is about information marketing and how to convert sales.

I am interested to do an online business that is sustainable and provide customers actual value and use from the business.  I am wonder how I can go about it. I need ideas!

I have also just signed up at www.clicknewz.com, a blog roll that is owned by Lynn Terry and from reading her articles, someone that is down to earth and believable. So I have also spent $ to buy her 15 page report on how to make $ on the net without a website, database, etc. I have now expended RM130 (USD37) on my quest to make $ online.

Tomorrow is back to work for me in a market research company, thankfully is a Friday and I want to read and finish Lynn Terry’s report.

Good night from Malaysia, its 12.16am.

Genesis

December 19, 2007

So here it goes, I want to be financially shackles free…..I have been a subscriber of Martin Avis’ Kickstart Daily ezine for the past 4 years. Through him, I have learned that it is possible to earn money online as long as you have a real passion for it and is serious about its possibilities. I did start my own website called www.infosponge.net circa 2003.  The purpose of the original website was to share as a newbie on what’s happening in my world of internet marketing, with doses of inspiration and a weekly ezine titled Cuppa of the week or something along that line. That was when I was residing in the UK on a 2 year working holiday visa. Suffice to say, nothing came out of that website, and it was neglected as I lacked focus and what I truly wanted to do.

Back to present moment and 4 years later, now back in my homeland Malaysia, I have decided to get back on the horse’s back and give myself a good one (1) year to build an online business presence.

To quote from Martin Avis’s recommendation on this book for internet newbies “Licensed to Quit”

One such book is ‘Licensed to Quit’ by Kickstart reader
and forum regular Tony Shepherd and his business
partner Sara Brown.
Man it’s good. I’ve had the book for a few days now,
but haven’t been allowed to tell you about it until
now.
Tony and Sara have been selling the book to their own
subscribers at a special discount before it goes live
on ClickBank. They have very generously offered to let
you have the same deal.
Believe me, it’s a steal. What is ‘Licensed to Quit’ about?Part one of the book talks about the importance of
having your own product to sell, how you can quickly
and easily get one without having to do very much work,
and how to create a system to get the maximum revenue
from your work – even if you give it away for free!
It is good, solid, tried and tested advice from a pair
of seasoned Internet marketers who only describe
systems and strategies that they have tested and proved
for themselves. There is absolutely no fluff and no
vague theory. This stuff works.
Part two of the book gets into the meat of the system
that Tony and Sara actually use to launch their own
products and create hundreds or thousands of dollars of
income – even without lists to market to. Once again,
it is real-life information that works.
Who is the book aimed at? Certainly newbies will find
it refreshingly easy to understand and apply. There
aren’t a whole lot of difficult concepts to learn, just
plain common sense. Advanced Internet marketers will
also get a lot out of ‘Licensed to Quit’ because it
teaches a fully-formed system that is easy to put into
action.
Action is, of course, the key to success. Action to
apply the things you learn and action to grasp the
nettle and decide that Internet marketing is the way
forward for you.

Incidentally, for all those many Kickstarters who
bought the excellent “20/20′ course from Michael Green
a few months ago, ‘Licensed to Quit’ is a perfect
companion because it gives you an alternative method of
promoting your products that doesn’t rely on finding JV
partners.

This is a limited time offer. The discount will only
apply until Tony and Sara put the book on ClickBank at
the full price, so if I were you, I’d bite their hands
off!

His review of the book has inspired me to take a look at the sales page for the book and at $27, is not too expensive for me after the obligatory currency conversion but by no way its cheap either (RM95) for a 52 page e-book. The straight-forward sales page persuaded me to take stock of my life, after all my 2008 goal is to purchase my first property.

Initially, I was thinking of using my bonus to buy a Braun Buffel leather bag, but I rather think this is a better way to spend my hard-earned money, to learn and apply something that can make me more money.

So, I have just downloaded the book last night after paying with my credit card via Pay Pal, and printed it out just today. I will update on this blog my path to get the license to quit my job.

I want and will it to happen.

Merry Christmas!
